Every day, the Rosebank Management District (RMD) works behind the scenes to ensure that Rosebank remains one of Johannesburg’s safest, cleanest and most well-managed urban precincts. Through ongoing maintenance, public realm improvements, strategic partnerships and community initiatives, our teams continue to invest in creating a vibrant environment for residents, businesses, workers and visitors alike.
June was another productive month, with several projects completed across the precinct that reinforce our commitment to safety, infrastructure, environmental sustainability and community wellbeing.
Investing in Safer Streets
Maintaining high-quality public infrastructure remains a core priority for the RMD. Throughout June, operational teams carried out repairs to potholes along key transport routes, including Bath Avenue and Oxford Road. These repairs contribute to safer driving conditions, improved pedestrian accessibility and help preserve the quality of Rosebank’s road network. Regular infrastructure maintenance reduces long-term deterioration while ensuring that the precinct continues to provide a safe and welcoming experience for everyone moving through the district.

Road Marking Improvements
In partnership with Kingsmead College, the RMD repainted the boundary lane markings along Tyrwhitt Avenue. The refreshed markings improve road visibility and traffic guidance while contributing to a cleaner, more orderly streetscape.
Strengthening Traffic Flow
To support day-to-day operations, the RMD secured 100 new traffic cones, which are now being deployed across the precinct to improve traffic flow, manage temporary works, discourage illegal parking and assist with traffic control during busy periods and special events.
Supporting the Community
On 18 June, The Hyde Hotel, in collaboration with the RMD, hosted a soup kitchen that provided warm meals to more than 100 people experiencing homelessness. The initiative formed part of a broader effort to support vulnerable members of the community during the winter season through partnerships between local businesses and community stakeholders.

Greening the Precinct
The Hyde Hotel, with support from the RMD and a donation of trees from Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo, planted four new trees on Cradock Avenue. The planting contributes to the ongoing enhancement of Rosebank’s public spaces and supports the precinct’s long-term environmental objectives.

Cleaner Public Spaces
Standard Bank installed 15 new Jozi My Jozi litter bins around its Rosebank offices, with RMD teams assisting in positioning the bins throughout the surrounding public areas. The additional bins will help improve waste disposal facilities and support the precinct’s high standard of cleanliness.
